Features & Benefits

of the Mozzafiato Evoluzione R Espresso Machine

  • E61 Brewing Head: You’re not going to find the E61 on low cost machines. Rocket Espresso knows what real espresso brewers like and they’ve included this head to make this machine worthy. If you’re not familiar with the E61, you should become so. It’s real beauty is in keeping a steady stream of hot water flowing from the boiler for consistently hot shots. In addition you remove excess moisture from the brew head with a 3-way value allowing you to come away with a dry puck for easy cleanup of the basket.
  • Patented Cool-touch Technology: The steam wand is designed with the cool touchy technology for safety of use. Only the nozzle gets hot with this unit making it easier to froth you milk. The wand is heavy duty and has a two hole tip. You use it with the large control knob which is claimed as ergonomic to further make it easy to use.
  • Steam Pressure Gauge for Boiler: Directly below the wand is the steam pressure guage. Rocket Espresso indicates that at 1 bar pressure it is ready to use. The boiler capacity is 61 oz. It’s insulated and represents a 30% increase in thermal stability and up to 22 % in energy savings. The 9 mm boiler end plates provide stability and temperature control enhancement.
  • Pump and Pressure Gauge: This machine has a rotary pump of commercial grade which is quiet compared to the vibratory types. This will be very much appreciated when trying to keep up conversations with your guests. A second gauge is provided to monitor the pump pressure to your coffee and also as an outside pressure adjustment. It comes equipped also with a device to reduce back-pressure from the boiler which is aimed at reducing blockage.
  • Hot Water Nozzle: A nice feature to have is the ability to dispense hot water for other beverages such as tea or hot chocolate. We know you all have friends that just don’t know the greatness of espresso. It’s located next to the normal brewing parts and is also dispensed with a ergonomic knob. This model also adds the PID temperature control replaces the mechanical switch for better brewing.
  • 98 oz Water Reservoir: This is a generous size at 2.9 liters that allows brew after brew without the need for refill and gives you several more serving than many of the other lower water tank machines. Additionally you can go direct to your home water supply with a little plumbing; just like hooking up your fridge for water and ice. It can be activated with the flick of a switch.
  • Drip tray drainage system: The drip tray has a way to drain meaning if you’re brewing like crazy you’re not going to end up with an overflowing tray. We thought this was nice, but probably only needed on rare occasions, but then again we can be a little retentive on keeping things clean.
  • Filter cups: There are two full size commercial filter handles and baskets, a one cup and two cup and comes with one blind filter.
  • Stylish: This unit definitely has compact appeal for the home with polished stainless steel styling. It’s direct and up front with all you need to do to make espresso. This high-end direct at your finger tips design complements any decor. The new addition of adjustable feet gives it a new classy look and makes it easy to level on those tile counters.

Brewing

Two things you’ll need to do to brew delicious coffee drinks are filling the water tank with fresh water and using fresh coffee beans with a good grinder (recommended companion grinder: Rocket Macinatore Fausto). It’s likely going to take some experimentation to get your prefect cup or drink. But overall its straight forward as you adjust a few of the variables at brew time.

Rocket Espresso has a full training guide and instructions (CD and manual) which come with your purchase. I suggest that you take the time to review it, even if you’re an old hand as you might can a tip or two for using this machine.

Steaming

As noted in the features the steam has the patented cool-touch technology and a two hole tip. It’s heavy duty and you adjust the steam flow through the knob at the top of the wand. It takes about 15 minutes to warm up for steam.

You can monitor the pressure gauge to get one bar of pressure and you’re ready to begin frothing. Read up on some of the tips for using the various milk, soy milk and half and half and coming up with the prefect foam or steamed milk for your favorite latte, or coffee drink.

Display & Control

Every thing for use is right on the front of the Rocket Espresso Mozzafiato Evoluzione R Espresso Machine. It’s primarily noted as a semi-automatic machine, but I’m viewing it as more manual and would treat it that way as a matter of course. Just a personal bias given how you want to control making your drinks.

Knobs and gauges are easy to work and read. The head and baskets are right there up front and personal.

Additional Features

The boiler is an insulated heavy duty copper and when paired with the quite pump gives you a long life unit that is completely enjoyable for many years. The set up allows for pre–infusion for better brewing. Features cup warming and a removable cup rack which you can remove to reduce the height by 1.5 inches. It has a low water sensor as well.

Consumer Reviews

Too New for Reviews, but 4.5 of 5 on the previous model

As this model is new to market, there are not many reviews. However, the previous Cellini model that it replaces is very popular machine for the great drinks it produces.

Other reviewers were more upset at customer service from the suppliers they used and not the machine itself when trying to get replacement parts.

That’s why for these top end machines we are recommending you check out My Espresso Shop for great parts and labor warranty as well as service and financing options.

Price

It’s not an exaggeration to say you might need to finance this one unless you have lots of disposable income. At this review, it was listed at $2850. Recommending here Rocket Espresso Mozzafiato Evoluzione R to see price savings discount, price match guarantee and financing options.
