If you are still on the fence on which burr coffee grinder to buy for your loved ones, this is the time. The Cyber Monday Week deals gives you so many choices with deep discounted price. To make your shopping easier, I’ll group the grinders by price and by customer reviews (3.5-star or better). I’ll also share my thoughts on what kind of grinders you might get in each price range. Are you ready?

By the way, I had written a post on the entry-level models and there is no point repeating myself here. If you are interested in one under $100, click here to read more.

Cyber Monday Deals on Burr Grinders $100 to $200

  1. This list is between entry-level to mid-price. You might be able to find more grind settings and a bit more stainless steel in the housing. The size of the bean hopper and ground coffee container may be larger.
  2. The size of the burr diameter is often larger into the commercial-sized (50mm+). The larger the contact surface area, the higher chance the coffee beans will be ground more evenly. This will translate into more permeation with water during the pre-infusion and extraction processes.
  3. The 3 brands on this list are all well-known names in the industry. I had reviewed both the Breville BCG800XL and Gaggia 8002 MDF. I am not yet familiar with the KitchenAid Pro Line.

Burr Grinders Between $200 to $400

  1. This is the range I’d be interested in buying for someone who is more serious about brewing espresso. Why? These have the markers of commercial-grade grinders such as 50mm+ diameter burr and many grind settings to meet most of your brewing needs.
  2. The size is great for home use as well as in a small office.
  3. The best part is that most of them are tested and proven through time and by many customers like you and me. That’s why they have such high marks on customer reviews.
  4. It’s truly once in a lifetime investment. You buy one and will benefit from it for the rest of your life. I did very in-depth reviews on Baratza Virtuoso and Rancilio Rocky Doserless. Rancilio Rocky also has a model with a built-in doser. All it does is to allow you to dose the coffee ground into the portafilter basket for espresso brewing. I also wrote a comparison post about the Pros and Cons between the Doserless and Doser models.

What Would You Get for Over $400?

  1. The short answer is A LOT. Let me explain. Some of the grinders are truly commercial grade in both capacity, speed of grinding, user control and build materials.
  2. The grind settings seem to be “infinite”. For example, in Baratza Vario, there are two levers for adjusting grind size – one on macro and the other on micro. OK, we are getting into a serious chat here. The macro lever enables you to adjust on the brewing method level such as French Press (being the most coarse) to Turkish coffee (the finest), espresso is coarser than Turkish coffee but much finer than French press. The micro lever lets you fine-tune many notches within the Espresso setting. So the total number of settings are multiplied using the number of macro and micro and ends up with hundreds of settings. The finer you are able to adjust on the dial, the more likely you’ll be able to hone in on extraction and achieve a better outcome.
  3. Now let’s look at the size of bean hopper and ground coffee receptacle. Some of them will hold as much as 3 pounds of coffee beans such as the BUNN G3. Definitely great for using in a commercial setting whether it’s in an office or a restaurant.
  4. Other things you will get from paying more are more stainless steel in the housing for durability and more sophisticated Control Panel which makes it easier to choose an option or make an adjustment.
  5. I’d call it as an equity investment. Buy one and use it “forever”.
